In August 2013 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Adrian Poputea after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substance methylhexaneamine (dimethylpentylamine).
At the hearing the Athlete stated he used a supplement Kwik Energy, purchased for himself and he did not request for the B sample analysis.
